Valley Youth Center

We Italians not only work well independently, we know how to partner with the best and brightest from all Nationalities. This is why when Mark Bellomo and Brian Schnarr had a vision of creating a safe haven for the youth of their community, it was bound to thrive. It truly is a beautiful thing when all Nationalities come together for a greater goal! President - Director of this wonderful organization is Denise Borsa Kuritz. The Valley Youth Center is a non-profit recreational center for children who live in Lower Moreland Township and Bryn Athyn. We are located below the Huntingdon Valley Library, lower level parking lot, 625 Red Lion Road, Huntingdon Valley Pennsylvania. Valley Community Outreach d/b/a Valley Youth Center is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization registered with the State of Pennsylvania.

In 1997 Mark Bellomo & Brian Schnarr, students and community members joined forces and formed a group of concerned community members in the hopes to bring young people together in Lower Moreland & Bryn Athyn to prevent the kinds of problems that resulted in Eddie Polec’s death. Eddie Polec, 16 years old, was beaten and killed on November 11, 1994 in front of St. Cecilia’s Church in nearby Fox Chase, Philadelphia. “The tragic beating & killing of Eddie Polec was the driving force for this project and that a youth center was needed”, said Mark Bellomo. 		“It’s All About the Kids" The Valley Youth Center is self supporting. We are proud of the service we provide to the children in the community as well as many school and community groups. We are all Volunteer run and operated and we continue to provide this service to the community for close to fifteen years. We need your help to keep providing these services. We help all other school and community groups in the area.
