He is known throughout the world for being the illustrator of the first color edition of Pinocchio. With his drawings (starting in 1911) the portrait of Pinocchio was born. Gloria Del Bianco tells of her father and Mount Rushmore.

 

Chief Stone Carver Luigi Del Bianco, an Italian immigrant, was responsible for many of the finer details in Lincoln's face.

Del Bianco's daughter Gloria and her nephew, Lou, recently sat down at StoryCorps to share their memories of him and the work he did.
